We feel that everyone benefits when there is a definite and clear understanding of our financial policy prior to treatment.
Full payment is due at the time of service.
An estimate of your total fee will be outlined and given to you prior to your visit if possible. We do not offer in office payment plans. We ask that all patients come financially prepared for their visits. Patients or guardians are welcome to call in a payment ahead of time with a credit card.
Patients with insurance:
As a courtesy, our office will file your primary dental insurance if you provide us with proper information. All changes and updates of your insurance policy must be provided to the office by the patient. You are expected to pay your deductible and any copayments at the time services are rendered. In the event your insurance overpays the expected amount, we will refund you the difference. If your insurance underpays the amount expected you will be billed the difference. If payment is not received from your insurance company within 45 days you are immediately responsible for the remaining balance. Professional care is provided to you, our patient, and not to the insurance company. Thus, the insurance company is ultimately responsible to the patient, and the patient is responsible to the doctor.
If your insurance changes during treatment
, be advised that our original estimate of your co-payment may not remain accurate and you will be responsible for charges not paid by your new insurance. This includes and most often affects payment for orthodontic treatment.
We do not bill third parties
i.e.: the other parent, if the other party has not signed a financial agreement with us.
There is a fee of $35.00 for any check returned by the bank.
f you can not keep your appointment
, please cancel as far in advance as possible, as a courtesy to the doctor and other patients needing or wishing to make appointments. Saturday, evening and end of the year appointments are a premium. If a patient cancels, less than 24 hours, or no shows a cancellation fee of $35.00 will be assessed to the patient account and premium appointments will not be an option for that patient.
For your convenience, we accept cash, personal checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. We also accept CareCredit and Lending Club. These companies offer interest free payment plans and are accessible from our website: www.friendlybirminghamdentist.com.
Our fees are based on time, skill, care and judgment as well as overhead expenses. Nevertheless, our objective is to give you as much value as possible for the fee charged. After becoming a member of our “family”, I am sure you will agree. All queries in regards to payments and or billing are to be directed to our Patient Finance Manager.
